HOW ELECTIVES WORK
We begin our 1st-6th graders in a large gathering celebration service designed to take children at different ages, and different stages, and different places……and allow them to take the next step toward their relationship with Christ. Children will be given opportunities to engage in Worship through music. They will break out into their age group elective for 12 weeks, and rotate until they have experienced 12 weeks of each elective.
Our 2017/18 Electives are:
The Great Outdoors: Teaches kids about outdoor activities such as Hiking, boating, landscaping, and outdoor safety. While they are learning about the outdoors, they will be studying the essentials of our faith using the Nazarene Articles of Faith.
Recipes for Life: Teaches kids how to follow a recipe, prepare food for the table and for their souls. Kids will spend 12 lessons taking an in-depth look at the Lords Prayer and learning what the Bible teaches us about prayer.
Invitation to Create: Teaches kids how to create projects like mosaics, woodworking, and stain glass, while learning how to live out their faith in this media-driven, fast-paced culture.

UPWARD BASKETBALL AND CHEER
Upward Sports is a uniquely designed sports experience that offers an opportunity for Oroville’s young athletes to discover Jesus through basketball and cheer-leading. The season runs from January through early March. The goal is to develop the TOTAL athlete mentally, athletically, socially, and most of all spiritually. Upward is designed to help young athletes discover and develop the skills they need to perform both on and off the court; creating individuals of strong character, confidence, and faith. The fame format and rules are designed to teach the game at an age specific level as each young athlete grows and develops. as they learn and follow game rules, young athletes will also learn the value of sportsmanship with a healthy competitive spirit. Coaches and commissioners pray before and after games and practices. Current and meaningful devotions are shared each week at practice to help kids grow in their relationship with God.
