Host Families have a two-fold ministry – Direct care for the children as well as developing an on-going, supportive relationship with the family they are serving, as needed and appropriate.
Resource Friends provide spiritual support through dedicated prayer service and address material and other practical needs, such as providing professional services, locating and retrieving needed items, and fund raising, in support of client families and Host Families.
The Ministry Lead is the main liaison between the Safe Families agency and their church community and is also responsible for the initial screening and consultation with Koinonea regarding referrals to the ministry.
SAFE FAMILY FRIENDS
Family Friends come alongside the families being served – Acting as a face to face mentors and guides to the parents to help them make necessary changes, through prayer, modeling, encouragement, conversation, direct assistance and referral to needed services, as well as assisting Host Families who are caring for client children.
SECONDARY HOST FAMILY
Secondary Host Families provide short-term (over-night) care of children, typically as an assist to the primary Host Family for a client family.
A Family Coach serves as the direct, hands-on support for and coordinator of the ministry team for the family hosting a child(ren) and the family being served.
